We originally started Stone Fence Farm back in 2006 with a traditional American golden retriever. Of course, at this time, we were still breeding goldendoodles.
We discovered the English Cream Golden a few years later and expanded our program to include English Goldendoodles.
The English Cream Golden is more laid back than the typical golden retriever. They are a lighter colored dog and should be a bit shorter and stockier than American retrievers.
After our last litter in 2012, we decided to take a break. While we loved our program, raising children and dogs can be quite difficult. After this hiatus and the departure of many of our dogs, we decided to return to breeding, this time with golden retrievers as our focus. Our children are now older and readily invested in the well being of your puppy.
We have done extensive research on goldens. It is common knowledge that goldens have a high risk of cancer. However, that being said KK, one of our darlings, passed away at the age 13. Clover also lived a long and happy life. We looked at her lineage when deciding on our next puppy and through research, found Finley.
English retrievers are not only found to live longer, but also have a lower risk of cancer–almost half that of the American golden.
